Bloomingdale High School was designated an “A” school by the Florida Department of Education for the 2012-2013 school year for the fourth time.
Bloomingdale High School has been designated as a SpringBoard National Demonstration School for the past two years.
Bloomingdale offers 20 AP courses and over 50 Honors courses. AP exams offer students college credit. In 2014, 1,636 AP exams were taken. 61.1% earned a score of three or above, the highest pass rate in Hillsborough County Public Schools.
New in 2014-2015, Bloomingdale now offers seven HCC dual enrollment courses for students:

- AMH 1020 Modern American History
- EUH 1000 Early Modern Europe
- EUH 1001 Modern Europe
- BSC 1025 Nutrition and Drugs
- MAC 1105 College Algebra
- SLS 1501 College Success
Career preparatory programs with industry certification include auto tech, TV production, teacher assisting, web and digital design, administrative office technology, and, new for 2014, culinary arts.
